Set up your computer for Windows PowerShell

Important

Skype for Business Online operated by 21Vianet in China will be retired on October 1, 2023. If you haven't upgraded your Skype for Business Online users yet, they will be automatically scheduled for an assisted upgrade. If you want to upgrade your organization to Teams yourself, we strongly recommend that you begin planning your upgrade path today. Skype for Business Online, excluding the service operated by 21Vianet in China, was retired on July 31, 2021.

Remote management of Skype for Business Online by using Microsoft PowerShell is supported only on 64-bit computers running one of the following operating systems:

  • Windows Server 2016

  • Windows 10

  • Windows 8.1

  • Windows 8

  • Windows Server 2012 R2

  • Windows Server 2012

  • Windows Server 2008

  • Windows 7

In addition to the supported operating system, the computer must also be running the following:

  • PowerShell

  • Teams PowerShell module
