Printer Options
Important
The modern print platform is Windows' preferred means of communicating with printers. We recommend that you use Microsoft's IPP inbox class driver, along with Print Support Apps (PSA), to customize the print experience in Windows 10 and 11 for printer device development.
For more information, see Modern print platform and the Print support app design guide.
Printer options represent the states that can be assigned to printer features. For example, if a printer can use both letter-sized and legal-sized paper, then LETTER and LEGAL are specified as options for its PaperSize feature.
This section discusses GPD language support for both standard options and customized options.
Additional topics in this section include Option Entry Format, Option Attributes, and Option Constraints.
