Disclaimer in ads allows you to inform customers about specific information related to your business or products. You can add Disclaimer in ads to new or existing campaigns.
Get started with Disclaimer in ads
Note
- Disclaimer in ads is not supported on Multimedia ads.
- Disclaimer in ads is supported for Performance Max campaigns that don't serve Product ads (i.e., campaigns without a catalog feed file).
- If your Audience campaign is serving Display or Video ads, the disclaimer won't work; however, the respective creatives will serve with disclaimers.
- Once you enable a disclaimer, you'll lose traffic from publishers who don't support disclaimers.
From the navigation menu on the left, select Create.
For Audience or Search campaigns, choose Drive conversions, Generate leads, or Build brand awareness as your campaign goal. For Performance Max campaigns, choose Drive conversions or Sell products.
Select Audience, Performance Max, or Search as your campaign type.
Note
Disclaimer in ads for Audience campaigns will only work for Native ads.
Move through the campaign creation wizard.
For Audience campaigns, under Budget & bid strategy, select the Show a disclaimer in Native ads for this campaign checkbox under Disclaimer.
- For Performance Max campaigns, under Advanced campaign settings, select the Show a disclaimer in ads for this campaign checkbox under Disclaimer.
- For Search campaigns, under Advanced settings in Campaign settings, select the Show a disclaimer in ads for this campaign checkbox under Disclaimer.
Select Add disclaimer.
Follow the steps in the Create disclaimer window. You can choose a Popup layout that requires you to add a Disclaimer title or Additional line layout, which will replace Ad text 2.
Notes:
- While Popup layout is your only option for Audience and Performance Max campaigns, you may choose between Popup layout and Additional line layout for Search campaigns.
- If you're creating a disclaimer for ads powered by dynamic data feeds (e.g., Automotive ads, and Credit Card ads, you must choose Popup layout.
- Due to China's regulation requirements, Chinese advertisers can only create disclaimers using Additional line layout.
Select Save.
Choose a disclaimer to associate with your campaign.
Follow the steps provided by the campaign wizard. Learn more about the different steps of the Audience campaign and the Search campaign creation wizards.
For Search campaigns, when you get to Ads & ad extensions, select Dynamic Search ad or Responsive Search ad from the Ad type dropdown menu.
Also in Ads & ad extensions, you can preview your ad with the disclaimer by selecting Create ad.
Select Save.
Note
While clicking on disclaimers is free, you can still see disclaimer ad performance on the ad level report.
