Whether you want to temporarily stop spending on your ads, or check your settings after a recent import into Microsoft Advertising, you can pause and enable your campaigns whenever you'd like.
If your campaign or account was paused automatically and you'd like to troubleshoot, see Why was my campaign or account paused automatically?.
- From the navigation menu on the left, select Campaigns.
- In the Campaigns table, find the campaign that you wish to pause or enable and select the checkbox next to it.
- In the blue bar, select Edit and then select either Enable or Pause.
Why was my campaign or account paused automatically?
Here are some possible reasons why your campaign or account might have been paused automatically:
- Your campaign has run out of budget and has entered a budget paused status.
- Your Google import has overwritten your current campaign status when importing.
- Your account may be paused due to editorial rejections. To learn more, see Fix a Disapproved or Approved Limited status.
- Your account has an unpaid balance. To learn more, see Account errors.
- Even after you pause or delete all of your active campaigns, there may be billing data still pending. Therefore, your balance may increase slightly until all billing data is accounted for.
Delete an exisitng campaign
Important
Deleting a campaign is permanent. You cannot restore it, and all associated data and history will be lost. If you only want to stop ads temporarily, consider pausing the campaign instead. Pausing your campaign stops ad delivery but keeps all settings and history intact, so you can resume later if needed.
Tip
If you're unsure about permanently deleting your campaign, pause it instead.
Steps to delete a campaign:
- From the navigation menu on the left, select Campaigns.
- In the Campaigns table, find the campaign that you wish to delete and select the checkbox next to it.
- In the blue bar above the table, select Edit.
- Choose Delete.
