How to install Microsoft 365

Before you begin, ensure you have an active subscription that includes desktop apps, for example, Microsoft 365 Business Standard, Microsoft 365 Apps for business, or Microsoft 365 Education. For more information, see Office for home and Office for business plans.

Note: Microsoft 365 Business Basic doesn't include desktop apps like Word, PowerPoint, or Excel. Office Home and Business 2024 is a home-use product and isn't part of a business subscription. For specific instructions for Visio or Project, see Install Visio or Install Project.

Tip: You can use the Microsoft Support and Recovery Assistant to help with Microsoft 365 installation issues on a PC. For more information, see About the Microsoft Support and Recovery Assistant.

1. Create the user accounts and make sure the user has an assigned license. For details, see Add users and assign licenses at the same time.

2. Have each user:

   1. Go to the Office Portal page.
   2. Sign-in with the work or school account with the assigned license.
   3. Under the Office section, select the language and version.
   4. Select Install Office.
