I installed Office 2013 plus ,and I didn't choose to install Office shared features , Drive sky Pro and Lync

But I still notice Microsoft Office upload center appear, I didn't found it in "Startup" to disable it !

Is there another way to remove it ?

    1. Run msconfig.exe and disable the start up

    or

    1. Search the registry for "OfficeSyncProcess" and remove the key in the run folder.

    Key = HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\OfficeSyncProcess

    I agree with all the complaints about microsoft 'forcing' users to use the upload center. Heavy Handed!!

    I found this solution from a google search and it seems to work...

    If you open task manager and stop the process MSOSYNC.EXE (right click and open its location first) that will kill the process. Then perform the following:

    1. In the folder of MSOSYNC.EXE, delete the file.
    2. Open notepad, and save a text file to that same location.
    3. Rename the test file from “New Text Document.txt” to MSOSYNC.EXE

    Many thanks to "Admin" at gearbytes for the solution. (I had to open notepad with administrator rights)

    Honestly though, Microsoft are getting more like Appl3 with removing choice from their software, I guess at least their OS is open enough for people like "Admin" to work out hacks...

    Hope this helps someone else

    Thanks for nothing.  Instead of assuming everyone knows how to navigate the ridiculous windows 8 to edit the registry, microsoft help technicians really ought to start explaining from square 1, how to edit the registry.  It aint windows xp anymore you know.  Any auto-running uploading service that cant be easily disabled by the user should be considered a virus.  And for those of us who are making a genuine attempt to adopt a tablet running windows, we really appreciate MAX control over every possile thing to get longer battery life and faster start up times.  Dont force us away from windows tablets with stuff we cant disable. I dont want to hack my own system to gain control over it.  Please give me a real way to over ride the office uploader service from running at all times.

    one might try FIZBAN11's fix (below) which may seem 'less destructive', to some, and,

    I might add, the first time I had seen this particular idea (regarding OUTLOOK, as the culprit) followed up on.

    I had success with this on my WIndows 8 machine with Office Pro 2010

    {briefly}

    Control panel > Programs and Features

    choose your MS OFFICE 20?? installation

    select "CHANGE" at top

    select Add or Remove Features

    expand Outlook by clicking the + sign

    expand Outlook Add-Ins by clicking the plus sign

    select SharePoint Server Colleague Recommendations Add-In

    for myself, i just disabled (red X) ALL OUTLOOK add-ins
