Need to merge multiple Power Point Presentation files in to one

Hello

I have multiple power point presentation files (10-20 presentations) that I would like to merge in to one big file.

I have a presentation called pp1 that has only 4 slides. However, one of those slides has about 10-20 hyper links that points to the different PP Presentation files (pp2, pp3, pp4, pp5 and etc).

Is it possible to merge all of these presentations in to one big file? Keep in mind that I need to keep my hyper-links.

Also, I don't want people to edit/change the content of this presentation.

Thank you

I'm not sure Merge is what you're after but it's worth trying Girish's suggestion to see if it works for you.

You can also use Home | Slides | New Slide and choose Reuse Slides at the bottom of the gallery that appears to insert slides from other presentations into the current one.  Or open both presentations, put both in slide sorter view, select/copy the slides from one and paste into the other presentation.  You'll have the option of retaining the original presentation's formatting or applying the formatting from the presentation you're pasting into.

I'm not sure that'd preserve hyperlinks, but it would only take a few seconds to try it and find out.

If not, consider keeping the presentations separate and just linking from the main presentation to the subsidiary ones.

Protecting the presentation against changes is a trickier matter.  Saving everything as PDF once it's all assembled and if need be, relinked, would likely be your best bet.

Agreed :-)  I did eventually find one - Drag and Drop a folder full of ppt files and BAMM... a new BIG PPT!

As I already mentioned:  Start PowerPoint, choose File | Open, browse to your slide show file and open it.  Now you can edit it any way you like.

Saving as a slide show only protects it against people who only know how to open files by doubleclicking icons.

    It adds virtually no protection.

    Open the first presentation.

On the Home tab, click the downward pointing arrow next to "New Slide"

At the bottom of the gallery that appears, choose "Reuse slides"

At the bottom of the pane that opens on the right, put a check next to "Keep source formatting" then right click one of the slides in the Reuse Slides pane and choose "Insert All Slides"

    OR

Open both presentations, put both presentations into Slide Sorter view.

In the presentation containing the slides you want to insert, press Ctrl + A to select all of the slides.

In the presentation you want to insert the slides INTO, click an insertion point where you want the slides to appear then on the Home tab, click the down=arrow beneath "Paste" and click the icon that looks like a clipboard and paint brush (or just press K for Keep Source Formatting).

    Hello Richard

Thanks for your feedback. And of course thanks Steve and Girish.
