I saved a revised file to my sky drive at my office to open later at home. When I attempt to open Word 2013 states it can't open because we found a problem with its contents. Details: unspecified error.  Location: Part:/word/header1.xml, Line: 2, Column:0. I have tried to change it to zip file and open it thru that but I am unable. I need help ASAP as I worked all day on revisions to the document and I am now unable to get to them and will have to go all the way back thru the document. Currently the document is saved here if anyone can HELP!! https://skydrive.live.com/redir?resid=A056FFB0370E00C0!645&authkey=!AJd3LkThpGX2W0Y   Thanks beyond so much for assistance!

    Hi everyone!

Follow this step work as charm to me

    • Save the file to computer
    • open https://cloudconvert.com/docx-to-doc upload a file
    • in section 3 choose "save file to my" (Onedrive to me)
    • Start Convert
    • After convert, open Office Word and sign in with the same account above (Onedrive to me)
    • Open the file you've saved.

    Done!

I am having similar problem. If I save the file to OneDrive on computer A, then try to open it on computer B, I get the same error as above. THIS IS NOT A WORD PROBLEM AND THE FILE IS NOT CORRUPT. If I email the file from the OneDrive folder on computer A to computer B, and then open the file attached to the email on computer B, it works just fine. ONEDRIVE IS DOING SOMETHING TO THE FILE to cause it to be "corrupted." I have had similar problems with Excel files saved to OneDrive.

OneDrive is great for saving everything BUT OFFICE FILES. The more integrated that OneDrive becomes with Windows and Office, the worse it gets. I have 115GB for free with OneDrive, but its becoming unusable because of these problems.  I suggest using DropBox for your Office files (this also works better for Office files that you want to open on the iPad).

Will Microsoft ever fix the problems with OneDrive and Office files? I doubt it because you can't get ANYBODY at Microsoft to even admit that OneDrive is altering the file much less corrupting it. But it clearly is!

Better to raise that issue in the OneDrive forum.
