Windows 7 / Office 2010

Is there a facility—Windows or Office—whereby one can search for a keyword in multiple (unopened) Word documents in a given folder?

If yes, please provide details.

My search is for a keyword in the document content.

I have since established that the initial search yields a list of files (if any) where the keyword is in the file name only.

Then, at the bottom of this list, additional options are given (which I missed on previous occasions):

When I select 'File Contents' here, it does actually search the contents of the filie.

Thanks to everyone for your input.

When I enter a keyword in "Search My Documents", I only gets files listed with the keyword in the file name; I am looking for that keyword in the document content. What am I doing wrong?

Is the keyword in the document content or in the file properties? When I search in Windows 7 (provided I haven't added a search filter), I get documents with the keyword in the content.

Edit: Judging from the Folder Options dialog, by default, Word searches the contents of only indexed files:

    This feature is laughable useless.

It even fails to find document by name, not to mention searching inside documents of MS Word.

Thank You for suggestion, but it simply does not work.

It can be removed from Windows and no one will complain...

The search function of Windows Explorer should do that:
