Excel Linking in Word Not Holding Formatting When Update Link is Triggered in Word

Not sure if this is a bug between Excel and Word, but each time we proceed with linking Excel to Work and try the update link option under right clicking. It will adjust the width of the cell off the screen.

This is becoming increasingly frustrating to our users as they are in the middle of tax season preparing major reports and this is moving all their cells off the screen when they have to re-link items.

We noticed this only started happening when we moved to Microsoft Office O365.

Any suggestions?

Thank you - Zak

We are having the same issues on our machines.  It only seems to happen on the Office 365 Pro Plus 2013 install of Office.  We followed the same steps and received the same results.

    Definitely a bug with office.

Here is a bit of the process step by step as to what and how this issue is happening.  This is only happening on HP Zbooks.  We have other model laptops where we are not seeing this happening.

To add to this now we have rolled back to Office 2010 and confirmed that the above linking is no longer happening.

This is a Microsoft O365 Pro Plus 2013 bug or issue.

We are concerned that Microsoft is stating that we need to pay for support when we are seeing this on numerous computers and appears to clearly be a 2013 O365 bug.

    Thank you,

    Zak

Yes Daniel this does happen on all documents.  We are also seeing this on all of our new HP Zbook laptops.  Looks like it may be isolated to Office 2013 O365 too.

    Thank you,

    Zak
