To open pdf files, Office Word 2013 converts them to a supportable format.

How can I do the same thing for ePub/Ebook files?

How can I use them with Office 2013?

You can use a two-step process to get from ePub to Word.

First, install the free Calibre program from http://calibre-ebook.com/. Once Calibre is running, use the Add button to select the ePub file for input, and click the Convert Books button. In the top right corner of the conversion dialog, choose PDF as the output format, and click OK. The output file will be placed in the folder that you designated (during installation) as the Calibre Library folder.

Now you can open the PDF file in Word. If all goes well, you can save the resulting document as a .docx file that you can edit (but don't violate copyright!).

Word does not currently offer any support for the ePub format.
