Adobe Flash Player – how to check

I felt I have an Adobe Flash Player with the latest version since I’m able to watch some videos in my pc (although at times I can’t).  So I’m surprised that while browsing for a specific issue in the help desk in Excel, that I’m suddenly advised that I would have to install this or Microsoft Silverlight.

I looked at my installed programs and I couldn’t find Adobe Flash Player, but then I believe from a program, it would detect and say I have the latest version.

I wonder now.

Thanks.

Visit this link on Adobe's site. Here, you can check whether Adobe Flash Player is installed on your computer or not.

    https://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player.html

I clicked Check Now and below is the result for my computer.

    Thanks!

Is that so?  So if I couldn't find Adobe flash player in my list of installed programs, that really means I do not have it?  Because on visiting a website it says I have it in the latest edition.

You don't necessarily need Adobe Flash player to play videos on your PC, but you would need it to play an Adobe Flash video. You can download the latest Adobe Flash plug-in from https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

If you are unable to play other types of video, then you would need to ensure that you have the correct codec installed for that type of video.
