Upgrading from Office 2007 to Office 365

I am contemplating a change from Office 2007 to Office 365, because it is getting difficult to get support for my old Office. My issue is quite minor, I hope, in that my Laptop exceeds all the System Requirements except one, which is screen resolution. I can adjust for a maximum of 1280 X 800 "recommended" (or 1280 X 768), but for Office 365 Microsoft says (Graphics hardware acceleration requires DirectX 10 graphics card, 1366 x 768 (or higher) resolution. I believe my Display Adapter is as follows: Mobile Intel(R) 965 Express Chipset Family (Microsoft Corporation - WDDM 1.1). Can anyone please advise me if it would still be feasible to use Office 365 on my Laptop ??

    Hi,

Installing Office 365 will not over write the existing Office 2007 suite. You can have both Office 2007 and Office 365 installed on the same computer.

You may also refer to the link below for more information on installing and using multiple versions of Office on the same computer.

I look forward to your reply to assist you further.

    Thank you.

Thank you for the advice you have given me !!

I now have Office 2007, and the Trial version of 365 running on my Laptop without any apparent difficulties, at this stage. The presentation of 365, on my "screen", seems fine to me so perhaps the System Requirements item of 1366 X 768 screen resolution, is an optimal item rather than a mandatory item (my maximum is 1280 X 800), from Microsoft.

With regard to my registration of Office 2007, I can access it on the Office "Account Management Console" by signing-in with my Microsoft Account sign-in details. When I have signed-in, I can "download" Office 2007 to my Laptop again (if my version becomes unworkable, or I have a problem with my Laptop). My 2007 Product Key is also available there, if I need it during re-installation.

    Thanks once again !!

Its unlikely that Office 2007 is registered with an MS account, it may be that you registered when you installed, but that is not the same thing as using/creating an MS Account to obtain Office 365

Thanks for your suggestion, which I would like to try !! Do I need to uninstall 2007 first before I install the 365 Trial, because I don't want any unnecessary complications ? I have my 2007 registered within my Microsoft Account, so I could re-install if things don't work out with 365. Also, I have copied my Outlook (.pst file) onto my Removable Backup Hard Disk so that I can use it within the 365 Trial.
