Good morning, I have the 128 barcode font in my Excel. I thought that the formula to convert the string went something like ="'*&A2&*'". Can anyone help? Thank you.

    Hello,

I believe you have the quotes placed incorrectly. Your formula should look like this. ="*"&A2&"*"

Here is a screen shot of how this works using 3 of 9 barcode, but the priciple is the same. You have to quote each * on the begging and the end. Your current formula returns a value of *&A2&* because you placed your quotes around it all.

128 Barcode Font is not native to Excel.

Have you downloaded this font from somewhere or do you have some add-in or macro to enable bar code?

    Hi Tony,

Perhaps I have misunderstood your question, but is it not sufficient simply to change the font?

    Norman,

Changing the font displays the value as a barcode. However for most barcodes to work they must have a start and stop symbol. As for 3 of 9 and 128 that symbol is *.
