How do I exit a file in Office Online without automatically saving changes to it?

I open a random existing Excel file from OneDrive in Excel Online.

If I make a single key stroke, it will automatically save those changes to the file when I try to exit it.

How do avoid autosaving?

Thanks

    @Samuel

    That link did not help.

    @Poonam

    I am aware of those two funcitons. But can it really be that you cannot exit the document and just say "DO NOT SAVE CHANGES" from its original state without having to undo any changes made to it???

    Hi,

    The ability to toggle off autosave is not available in Office Online as yet since the idea is to ensure users do not lose their work by accidently closing their browsers or hitting the back button.

    That is not to say it is definitely not something we will ever do, but with the two workarounds I provided above most changes can be reverted.

    There is however, user request we are getting for a manual save. Please review and vote at the following link:

    Hi,

    Thank you for contacting the Microsoft team.

    If you are in an Office Online document in the editing mode, there are a few different options to retrieve the original state of the document. The choice of options vary depending on how many changes/file versions you want to go back:

    1. You can use the Undo option either through the ribbon or Ctrl+z and go back to desired state within the same session.
    2. On OneDrive, you can do the following: Go to the File --> Info --> Previous Versions and pick and restore the version you would like.

    Hope this helps.
