having time warner as a provider for my company, I had to have this .onmicrosoft.com extension added onto my email address to use outlook. people were not getting my email without it.  so I have had two inboxes for quite some time.  Suddenly, people are not getting my email and I am told their Time warner is spamming the onmicrosoft extentsions to junk mail, and now my normal email address works.   what is going on and can i get rid of this dumb extension on my email address for good?

    Hi DLC8574,

I would like to confirm the following information to better understand the problem:

    • Where you bought the Office 365 subscription through Reseller/Syndicate partner or directly from Microsoft Official Office 365 website?

    • Do you have added any custom domain (such as contoso.com) and create DNS records for Office 365?

    • Does this sending issue happened on both Outlook client and Outlook Web App?

    • How many users affected by this issue?

    • Regarding this “now my normal email address works”, could you please provide us with detailed information about the email address? Is it personal email address or else?

    • When you say “people are not getting my email and I am told their Time warner is spamming the onmicrosoft extentsions to junk mail”, do you mean that email goes to recipient’s Junk folder or do you received any non-delivery report message when the email didn’t delivered? If so, could please provide us with detailed non delivery report and tenant domain  (such as contoso.onmicrosoft.com) via the private for further troubleshooting?

I have sent you a private message, and here are the steps to access it:

Please go to "Your details" section on the right side of the community site.

    Click Private Messages.

Click the subject title to read the message.

    Best regards,

    Shyamal

also, there are several in our small company that are not very happy about going to 365 as they feel it is overly complicated, and nothing about it is very intuitive.

    hi dave,

i have checked your domain and found you only have a “cla***ir.onmicrosoft.com” domain. so you need to use the email address of username@ cla***ir.onmicrosoft.com to send emails.

to check your domain, please sign in to portal < domains.

cla***ir.com is not verified in office 365. so you are not able to use it to send messages. if you want to use the custom domain cla***ir.com, i recommend you verify it on your tenant firstly.

    regards,

    toby
