Left margin editor stopped working in Word

The left margin adjustment has stopped working in the default Word 2010 application.

I have attempted to manually drag it down (it's currently all the way at the top) without success.

I have opened the page layout and selected several of the available settings. Only the top/bottom

margins change when applying these.

I have tried to manually change the left margin in the custom margins option. No change.

I have tried to repair Office with the disk inserted. Again no change.

I uninstalled Office and reinstalled it. Again no changes in the left margin editor.

*note- If I open a previously saved Word document the left margin adjustment works fine.

The issue is only with the default Word application.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Dan

Possibly, you do not have the white space showing between pages.

Go to File>Options>Display and check the box for "Show white space between pages in Print Layout view".

While Doug's method certainly works, it's a lot quicker (as pointed out in http://wordfaqs.mvps.org/WhiteSpace.htm) just to double-click between the pages.

    Thanks, that did it.

fyi...I called HP (my manufacturer) and described the issue and everything I've done to try and remedy it. Their response was I'll have to reinstall Windows.

I said no thanks, there must be an easier way to remedy this.
