"end tag" error (The name in the end tag of the element must match the element type in the start tag)

Hi all, I just had another incredibly frustrating end/start tag mismatch error out of the blue after saving, closing and then reopening a word doc (which happens to be a very important school doc of mine). I tried to open the word/document.xml file and tried to find the problem using wordpad and Visual Studio but my knowledge of XML coding is VERY little so I really can't find the issue. Microsoft Word says the error is in line 2 (where the whole doc is, unfortunately), Column: 9619331 (firefox html viewer gives the  </mc:Fallback> error in:  Number 2, Column 9619328.

This already happened with this file once but someone here in this forum was incredibly kind to fix it form me. After that I recreated the document to avoid future errors (since I thought there was something wrong with the code in that doc) but it happened again; it seems to be a glitch with Office when the doc has a lot of picture (like this one - hence the big file size).

Can someone, please, help me fix this or at least tell me which line of code I have to change? If this doc is lost I've pretty much lost months of work! I would really appreciate it. Thanks beforehand!

P.S.

The link to the file is: http://1drv.ms/1LKBCLK

You can drop of the fixed file, if you can fix that code line: http://1drv.ms/1QJ5IyC or you can use your file uploading service of preference

I did not keep track of the number of places in the document where end tags were missing, but it was probably around 20.

I do not know what causes the end tags to go AWOL, but I would avoid the situation where the computer goes into hibernation with the document open, either by always saving and closing the document before leaving the computer unattended, or by turning off the hibernation\sleep mode.

Hm, strange error indeed (never seen it before and I've been using Office since the '98 version). Just now, I opened a copy of the repaired document, moved around some pictures and entered some text, saved the doc and all of a sudden the doc size went from ~130 MB to ~90 MB (which also suddenly happened last time, around the time I got this end tag error).

Well, I guess I'll try to once again rebuild the whole document but this time without bringing any source formatting data for the text or picture and see if that fixes this weird glitch.

    Thanks so much again Doug,

Thank you soooo much again Doug! you've saved me twice now! And really appreciate the super fast response.

By looking at the code, do you have any clues as to what element in the document might be triggering this error, this is the second time this happens and I'm worried it'll happen again.

I'm thinking it's some sort of Word memory glitch caused by the images that I'm pasting into the documents (which have kind of a high ppi and resolution - issue that I resolve by using the picture compression feature to reduce all images to 200 ppi) . For example some times when I wake up the pc from hibernation or sleep mode I resume working with the document but when I try to save it it gives an error saying: "there's not enough memory or disk space to complete the operation"  and then it opens a "save as" windows but when I try to save it to another location it keeps giving me the same error. The only solution is to copy and paste all the work that I've done since the last time I saved the document to a new temporary document and just exit out without saving changes, then reopen it and paste the stuff from the temporary document just created. Also, right after it gives me this error of "not enough memory", some of the images in the document disappear and reappear randomly as I move through the document.

Any ideas as to what this might be?

I have uploaded a repaired copy of your document with the filename BIO-400 Notebook-final - Repaired.docx to the following folder of my OneDrive

Please let me know when you have retrieved it so that I can delete it from the folder.
