I have installed Microsoft Office 2013 and have tried to activate it with a Office 365 University product key, This product key was bought from PC World Retail store when I purchased the laptop.

However it will not let me type in the number 0 or the letter O and I therefore cannot type in the product key and activate it.

I am not entirely sure what I can do to help you help me as I am not very technical with this sort of thing.

Lenovo G50-30

Model Name: 80G0

CPU: Intel N3540 2.16G

??? I don't know if any of that helps.

Please I really need help, I'm about to start university and this would greatly benefit me if I got some help to sort it all out.

    It isn't asking for my Uni Email, That isn't my problem, It's asking for my product Key, I have already activated my University Email address.

    My problem is that I cannot type the letters O or the number 0 when I try to enter the product activation key.

    Dizzley, did you fix your problem? Did my earlier post help?  If not, please "unmark as answer" so that people will continue to look at it to provide further suggestions.

    So moderators have a bad habit of marking replies as answer if the reply is a "reasonable" guess, without input from the original poster. This is a pet peeve of mine about the forum.

    This was helpful to a certain degree, I would just like to know how to resolve my issue, Because there is no way I can use my product key because I cannot type in some of the characters in order to activate my product key

    For 2010 I took the following clip that indicates MS does not use zero or letter "o" in product keys:

    <snip>

    The tool in KB 836178 walks you through a trouble shooting procedure for Office 2010 Product Keys

    This behaviour may occur for one or more of the following reasons.:

    • A simple fix a couple of people have reported is simply applying all Windows Updates (no idea why it matters … )
    • You have a Trial Version of Office installed that is “intercepting” the activation attempt, uninstall it first
    • Check the numbers and letters on the product key:

    § the number eight (8) can resemble a capitalized B,

    § the number zero (0) can resemble a capitalized O or Q

    § the number six (6) and letter G

    § the letters V V and letter W

    • Office 2010 Product Keys do not Contain following Characters:
      • Numbers: 00 1 5
      • Letters: A E I L N O S U Z

    </snip>

    Your Uni email address has to be verified first before you can install/activate the Uni Version of MS Office
