I was just wondering what programming language MS excel is written in. Is it C++? Thanks.

Given that it was written before C# existed I'd bet C++, and given the look and feel of the UI (ribbon, dialog boxes etc) I'd bet MFC.
Macros which automate Excel are written in VBA.
I don't think you can get at the source code for Excel.
