How do I insert text after a table that's right at the very end of a document?

I am writing a document in Word for Mac 2011 mainly in portrait orientation and have inserted a horizontal table in a new section (in landscape orientation) right at the very end of the document.

Now I want to add more text and a new section in portrait orientation after this table but nothing I do can let me get passed this blessed table!!

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

G.

    I had a similar problem when the table was the only item in a footer.  One workaround is:

    • Press Tab to create an additional row to the table;
    • Select the blank row (click to the left);
    • Click Convert to Text(on the Table Tools | Layout menu)

    Is this a document you created yourself? If you received it from another user, one of the 'techniques' often used to avoid a blank page when a Table is at the very end of the document is to reduce the font size to a miniscule amount. That may be the case here -- 1 pt font size can be very difficult to see even when the text or the ¶, itself, is selected.

    One thing you can try is to increase the Zoom to a high percentage.

    Another option would be to use Command+End, then Increase the font size.

    Regards,

    I tried this in Word 2016 and it copied the text in a frame. I then right-clicked and selected "Remove Frame" to get the text, but it inserted above the table! So this did not solve the problem, and I ended up going round in a circle.

    It seems the only way to work around this in Word 2016 is to cut the table and copy to a different file temporarily (so that I can copy and paste the text I want to insert after it), then copy the text in, then copy and paste the table back before the text. What a nuisance!

    Here's what worked for me:

    Select the entire table (hover over it and click the "move" icon that appears in the upper left, or just highlight the whole thing).

    Cut the table.

    Add line breaks.

    Move the cursor up so there are some line breaks after it.

    Paste the table back in.

    Hi Bob

    That didn't work either unfortunately.  And this is a document of my own creation - so I know there weren't any tiny fonts in it.

    However, I did solve the problem by trial and error.  It seemed to stem from the Table Properties I had selected.  Under Text Wrapping, I had selected Around.  With ¶ turned on, when I changed Text Wrapping to None, suddenly the ¶ revealed itself and I could continue typing after the table.

    I think the problem has stemmed from the fact that this is a very wide table stretching from margin to margin of a page in landscape orientation.

    Many thanks for your patience.

    G.
