Split from this thread.

I just purchased a new laptop.  I am not into big word programs or excel, etc.  All I want is to be able to create a word document.

Can I install my office 2000 on windows 10?

Yes you can.  If you have your download disc, just download it as normal and check Control Panel to see if this app is applied.  Mine did.  Easy  as that.  Microsoft will ask if you want to register this WORD 2000 app just say yes.

It will also appear on the tiles start up if you want. Cheers!  Γεια σας. Greek for Bye bye.

I also downloaded it to my windows 10 laptop (that did not come with word etc).  I just kept hitting ignore when I got the error box.  I hit ignore multiple times until windows said it successfully loaded it.

I've had Office 2000 Pro running in my Windows 7 Home Premium desktop for a few years. Absolutely no problems with Word, Excel, and Access. Upgraded to Windows 10 and setup returns error messages and stalls. Compatibility fix doesn't work either.  Oh well. Seems MS could offer a reduced price for registered users.

Do note that Office 2000 is not compatible with any modern OS... Being able to install, & even use it, on Win 10 (some users have reported problems even installing it on Vista & later) doesn't make it compatible and may cause problems.
