Creating a Tabbed Word Document

Hello everyone,

I am trying to create a Word document with multiple tabs (just like in Excel). Is this possible? I am aware of being able to have up to 3 tabs showing at the top, but that is for displaying 3 separate Word documents. Just trying to find a way to separate each of the sections in this document into its own tab. Any help is much appreciated.

Try using OneNote, either to create the text to begin with, or by copying from Word into a OneNote notebook. There you can have as many tabs as you like, and they're all searchable.

Yes, Word does NOT have this feature.  But it should.

I have a ga-zillion tabbed documents in my office I have created.  The need is there.  The market is there.

So please.  think about adding tabs to a single Word document, just like in Excel.

A good way to start would be to get some coffee and do-nuts and get the Excel and Word programmers together.  I'll buy the do-nuts!

There is a third-party add-in that adds tabbed documents to Word: http://www.extendoffice.com/product/office-tab.html

It's a commercial product, but you can try it out for free to see if you like it.
