Change default paper size to CUSTOM paper size in Word 2016 for Mac

Hi,

Is it possible to change the default paper size to "Custom paper size"?

I created a custom paper size, named "PDF Borderless" and followed your tutorial but unfortunately, when I re-open the doc, the paper size back to A4.

It's kinda annoying because most of my docs need a borderless to print / save to pdf.

Thanks in advance.

I've followed this instructions from link below, unfortunately it happens for standard paper size only.

    Try this -- In a new blank document go to File> Page Setup then in this order;

    1. Select the preferred printer from the Format For dropdown
    2. Select the preferred choice from the Paper Size dropdown
    3. Select Microsoft Word from the Settings dropdown
    4. Click the Default button
    5. Confirm Yes to the update

It wouldn't hurt to Quit the program... no need to save the blank document. On next launch you should find that your selected paper size is automatically set [File> Page Setup] for any new documents you create.

Word draws all its paper sizes from the default printer at startup.

If you want to use a custom paper size, you need to add that paper size to the default printer.

Then set the Normal template to use the new paper size.

See the Apple help for how to add a paper size to the printer.

    Cheers

Based on your reply as well as your reply to John... Are you saying that if you go into the Print dialog when using other programs that you have a choice for A4 Borderless, but that when using Word A4 Borderless is not in the list?

Which version of OS X are you using? Is your installation of O2016 fully updated [15.15.1 was recently released].

It might help to check the mfr's web site to see if there is an update for your printer, as well -- what's pushed out by Apple isn't always as timely as we'd like to believe :-)

    To set your Default in Word;

    1. Go to Format> Document
    2. Click the Page Setup button
      1. If A4 Borderless is available, select it, otherwise select your custom paper size
      2. Click OK
    3. Set all 4 Margin values to Zero
      1. Click the Default button
      2. Confirm the updating of Normal
    4. Quit the program

See if you have success when you next launch Word.

BTW: I'm sure you realize, but just to be clear... none of this will change anything about documents which previously existed. They will still open as whatever Paper Size & Margins they were last saved. It's only documents created after the new Default is set that will take on those parameters.

When I print from, let's say: Firefox, Safari, Notes, and other apps, the default page size has already "A4 No Margin".

So, I guess i've completed the step: "Add paper size to the default printer".

The problem left on Ms. Word, I need to change the paper size everytime I want to save as pdf or print.

    :(

I've tried your step by step and it still back to "A4". I also tried to use your guide to standard page size (such as: A5, A6) and it works.

However, if I set to "PDF Borderless" (which is my custom page size) and keep coming back to A4 :(

Or else, is there any other way to remove margin by default? Actually I'm using standard A4 size with additional no-margin.

    I'm getting frustrated.

    Anw, thanks for your help.
