Microsoft Office Activation Wizard - Unable To Activate Microsoft Office 365

Greetings

I just upgraded to Windows 10 and Microsoft Office became deactivated.  I uninstalled Microsoft Office and Deactivated it from the Microsoft Store, then restarted the computer and re-installed it, however it will not reactivate.  I also tried signing out of Microsoft Office and then signing back in.  It should also be noted that the option to activate via phone is grayed out and Microsoft Office Support is unable to provide a resolution at this time.

How can I activate Microsoft Office using the license that is available in my Microsoft Account until 2017?

Thank You

    Hello Jamie,

Welcome to Microsoft Community and thank you for posting your query.

Let me assist you with Office activation.

Let’s try the following methods and check if the issue gets resolved.

    Method: 1

Make sure you sign out of all the Microsoft Services on your default browser including Mail, Calendar, MSN or other Microsoft sites etc. (to which you have logged in).

You may open Word or Excel document, click on File, Account, User Information, Sign out from all the user account and then sign in using the registered email account and check if you are able to activate Office 365 University.

    Method: 2

You may try to open Office application in administrator mode and then try to activate it and check if it helps.

    Browse to the following location.

    C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office 15\ClentX86\Root\Office15. (Windows 32 bit)

    C:\Program Files(x86)\Microsoft Office 15\ ClientX64\Root\Office15. (Windows 64 bit)

Right click on Excel file and click on ‘Run as administrator’ and then try to activate Office suite and verify the status.

I hope the above information helps. Let us know if you need further assistance.

    Thank you.

For me just 4 days until I am unlicensed, having tried everything I can to remove that irritating activation notice. I have done my research and if not resolved and I am unlicensed I'm off to LibreOffice. The most annoying thing is I want to stay with MS Office 365 but this indifference and inability to address this issue makes my decision inevitable albeit disappointing.

Exactly the same issue so its good to know I am not the only one in this position. What is disappointing is 3 times I have been connected to Microsoft support who clearly do not wish to acknowledge that there is an issue.

Can you tell me what is going to happen once past the activation period and we are unable to use office? Despite my subscription still being taken?

I'm having a similar problem.  Since upgrading to Windows 10, the Microsoft Office Activation Wizard pops up every time I open an Office application.  It succeeds and says I'm activated, but it is annoying since it does this each and every time.

Thank you for taking the time to reply.  Unfortunately both Method 1 and Method 2 did not resolve the issue.

I'm still receiving the error message even though the Microsoft Account that I am using with Office and the Default Browser shows that office is in fact activated on the machine I'm using and the Product Key in my Microsoft Account matches the one on my computer.

    Thank You
