Copy page or content as image from MS Word

I am looking at creating some thumbnails for some of the works. These include pictures or texts in MS Word.

How I am doing now:

  1. Open the page on my window
  2. Take screen shot
  3. Paste the captured screen shot to the target document
  4. Crop and resize

But like Excel, don't we have an option to copy the selection as picture/image? I could not find this option. I tried to search this on internet as well. But found no help.

Does anyone have a clue? Or can this be added as a feature in a future version of MS Word if the feature is currently not available?

Using the screenshot tool that Luc mentioned is probably your best bet.

Another option is to use a standalone "Screen Capture" tool.  This allows you to capture specific parts of the screen, ie whole screen, whole application window or user selected portion of screen.  I have been using a freeware version of a tool called Fastone Capture.  There are many other similar tools you can download from the web.  Just today I discovered a new tool released by MS called "Snip".  It looks pretty good so far. Here is some more info about it

I have created a (very) short WIKI describing the tool.

MS has created a FREE screen capture app (download at link above).  You can capture portions of the screen, create annotations and even record audio and video as you make the annotations.

The link above provides more detailed description of features and how to use the tool

Finally, you can use the "screen capture" tools built into Windows. But they are usually pretty basic, featureless.

How to Share Screenshots from Any App in Win 8.1

    http://www.7tutorials.com/how-share-screenshots-windows-81-apps

Windows 8.1 comes with a bundle of many apps, from Sports and News to Finance and Health & Fitness. Chances are you are going to stumble upon some interesting content while using these apps, and you may want to quickly share a screenshot with it. Traditionally this meant using the PrtScn key, saving the screenshot in an image editor and then using another program to email the screenshot. Sounds like too much hassle, right? One of the great things about working with modern apps in Windows 8.1 is that you can quickly share screenshots with anyone. Here’s how it works.

If you use Paste Special to paste as a picture, you should have Save as Picture on the shortcut (right-click) menu.

Another approach is to “print” the page as a picture and save. You can get a free trial of Snagit, which installs a virtual printer:

In the Print dialog, select Snagit as the printer and Print Current Page in the Settings, and Snagit will create a high-res image of your page just as it would print. This will open in the Snagit Editor, where you can save it in any desired graphic format. It will then be available to you to insert into Word. You can also add markup to the image before saving (as I did above, circling the Snagit printer).

    Kangkan,

Are you using the built-in screenshot feature of Word (Insert - screenshot - screenclipping). If that is the case you should be able to right click the screenshot and choose save as picture.
