Android Office Mobile Excel 365 Will Not Open File

Excel will not open an Excel file on my Galaxy Note 4. It was opening fine, but now I get a window/message saying that it cannot open a file that uses Active X or Form controls. It is the same file I have been using for months. I only enter data. I have done nothing new to initiate active x or form controls. It is basically just tabs of manually produced monthly calendars/journals. No web links, inserts, formulas, nothing special. Why would Excel no longer open the file? It opens all my other similar files that I have tried just fine. I have been using Softmaker Planmaker for years without any issues whatsoever. I wanted to give Excel another try, especially when I realized I can now insert new lines in cells. That is a severe LIMFAC that Planmaker has they they told me would be fixed about a year+ ago.  I have reset Office back to original settings and prior to opening the file MIcrosoft made me update Excel before it would open the file. Could there be a bug in the update? Please assist.

I have the same issue and is really frustrating, but I found a loophole. First go to Settings, Applications, then to Default Applications, look for the Excel app and press the clear option on the right; then save the excel file to your cellphone, download the OfficeSuite app and use it as a default app to open excel files. It worked as a charm for me, good luck.

I have now ran the PC version of Excel compatibility checker on the file and it says that Active X and Form Controls are not in use for this particular file. Why won't Excel Mobile open this file? Why is it saying that Active X or Form Controls are in use when they are not!?!?!? This is my every day planning/journal file. I need to be able to access/edit it from my Samsung Galaxy Note 4. It worked fine. Now it does not after one of your updates. MICROSOFT, WHAT IS GOING ON!?!?!? PLEASE RESPOND!!!!

Although latest download says it can open ActiveX files it does not. Google Sheets works fine and opens Excel files. Buzarre.

I have now re-saved the file as a xls and Windows 95 xls to remove any odd formatting that could be causing this fiasco. I still get the same response that Active X or Form Controls are in use and Excel Mobile refuses to open the file. MICROSOFT, PLEASE RESPOND!!!!!!!
