I already have microsoft office word, excel and powerpoint 2013 applications legally installed (with product key) on my PC but I don't have Microsoft Office Publisher 2013 so I was thinking of downloading free installer from the internet but will use my product key upon installing. Is it safe to proceed or will it just compromise my license and other office apps? I need assurance. Thanks!! :)

Yes, you should be able to install publisher 2013 alongside any Office 2013 bundle.

No you cannot use your Office product key to activate Publisher. Publisher will have it's own product key.

Note: when you change to Office 2016, you will have to change all of your Office applications at the same time. Many people have reported that the Office 2016/365 "Click to run" installer forces you to uninstall all applications from earlier versions of Office <sigh> (although one person said he was later able to re-install those older applications <yea!>

    Hi Jenna,

Welcome and thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Office Community.

    Please provide us more information:

    1. What is the edition of Office 2013 you are using?
    2. Are you referring to the Office 2013 product key to activate Publisher 2013?

If you are using Office 2013 Home and Business with which Publisher is not included, then you will not be able to activate Publisher 2013. You will have to buy a different edition to install Publisher on your computer.

Hope this information helps. Please post to us if you need any further assistance with Office products.

    Thank you.
