My 2016 Word free trial has expired and I important documents like my resume and school assignments on there. All the options to copy it are locked and I really need them. I've also tried to do ctrl + c and ctrl + v and that won't work either. Does anyone know how I can get them off and/or copy them?

Are you trying to copy the text from a running copy of Word? If so, don't do that. Use the File Explorer to copy the document files (*.docx) from the Documents folder to a USB drive or other removable media, or send them over a network or to a cloud storage server (Dropbox, etc.). Then you can open them in someone else's copy of Word.

IF YOU have NOT deleted them, the files containing your resume and cover letters are where ever you saved them.  While they would have been saved by Word, that are NOT saved in Word.

Usually at the end of a free trial, Word goes into Reduced Functionality mode, so it is still possible to open and print documents--just not edit them or create new ones. Does Office 365 behave differently?
