Is sharepoint a free download in office 365

I read a post about a month ago that said Sharepoint would be available as a free download in Office 365 Home and Student subscription using Office 2016.  I didn't think to save it. The post said it would be available by the end of the year.

A. Am I confused and Sharepoint will not become a free application in Office 365 Home and student subscription?

B.  If I am remembering correctly, and Sharepoint will be/is free to Office 365 Home and Student running Office 2016, does anyone know when it might be made available?

I have found lots of references to Office 365 - Enterprise.  I am fairly certain that I saw this Office 365 - Home and Student article.

Sharepoint is NOT a free download. It is part of Office bundles.

I agree with Rachel, not being able to save your master slides is the real problem.

Please describe the steps you are taking to create and save these master slides.

Ah, ok! Interesting. It seems weird to me that you couldn't save master slides to OneDrive or locally. Perhaps THAT'S the thread you need to make here? Not sure if I'm on the right track but that seems a more pressing issue.

I want to build some master slides in PowerPoint.  They won't save to Onedrive or local storage. When I was researching how to save the slides, I found a tech article that said you would need Sharepoint if you wanted to save them.  I got the impression this may be a new development with Office 2016.

When researching Sharepoint [I'd never even heard of it], I ran across an article that said that Sharepoint was going to be a Free download for Office 365 subscribers.

I am not aware of what else it does, just that it's the only way to store master slides.

I figured since it was going to be free, I'd just grab it and solve my problem.
