Running Header along with a Page Number

I am trying to add a Running Header and a Page Number both to the top of each of my pages.

The problem is that if I insert a page number then go to insert a header, it will only allow me to add one or the other but not both. Help?

I also want to make a cover page but everything I have in my header including the page number shows up on the title page?

I want a separate title page that I can add the running header and information then start on the next page with the page number 1 and a new header?

I saw that I could open something called One Drive or download a template but I have no idea how to use the template and my document is already complete with the exception of the APA format header and page number.

Advice? Thank you!

If you are using the built-in header and page number formats, adding one format may remove the one you already inserted, as you have noticed.

What you can do is add the header first and then click inside the header and add a page number field directly in the text by pressing Alt+Shift+P. First you need to activate the header/footer view by double-clicking the header in your document.

I just knew there was a way to add a page number without formatting too. I kept thinking it was alt+p, some type of short cut that I remember learning from someone but couldn't remember what it was. Sincerely appreciate your assistance, thank you!
