Is there any way to recover the zoom tab in the layout menu bar in Word 2016 for Mac

I always dread a new version of Word - as a professional writer, it's usually at least two weeks before I can find everything that used to be there. But I wanted to ask about one feature in particular. In all earlier versions of Word, there was a dropdown to get page width zooming in the layout tab. That seems to have gone away - and now only exists in the view menu. That's usable - but it's slow. Is there any way to get the zoom feature back more conveniently?

Thanks!

It's the slider at the bottom right corner of the Word window.

The single-click "Page width" button is below the One Page and Multiple Pages buttons on the View tab.

    Cheers

You also can get a popup of the options by clicking the Zoom percentage value @ the right end of the Status Bar. If the percentage value isn't displayed, right-click the Status Bar & select Zoom. By using it you don't have to return to the View tab or using the View> Zoom menu to change Zoom level.

If you haven't done so, you might want to consider assigning keyboard shortcuts to any/all of the ViewZoom... commands. It's the fastest method -- your hands never have to leave the keyboard. The consideration is that some of the commands automatically switch to Draft View if that's not what's already being used. The Description of the command in the Customize Keyboard dialog identify the ones which behave that way.

I agree It could have been done better.

Here is what you have to do now and it only available through view menu it's actually a good candidate for the QAT (Quick Access Toolbar)

But there is one feature that I actually like better than the way it works in 2011. If you notice Percent is incrementally adjustable (notice the up and down arrows in Percent window.

In 2011 you have to actually type in a new number. Or go with Preset numbers and setting on preset menu.

Click on Flippy Arrow to see drop down menu.

One thing I wish they would duplicate this in Excel. But then they haven't fixed the issue of Excel window opening 1/3 screen size instead of Full screen. like in word and PowerPoint. Of course it's only been that way since the 90's.
