Embedding PowerPoint into Sway

I would like to Embed a PowerPoint in a Sway I am making but no matter what I try it will only Insert it.

It never gives me the option between Insert and Embed.

Here is what I have tried:

I have tried the Upload option and it does not give me the option to Insert or Embed (it automatically Inserts)

I have tried using the link from OneDrive - Sway says it is unsupported

I have tried the Embed Code from OneDrive/PowerPoint Online - Sway says it is unsupported

What is going on?

Thanks for the help.

Alex

    Alex,

Thanks for the thorough explanation!  I can understand why this would be confusing.  Embedding of documents is not yet supported for Office365 accounts, only for Microsoft accounts.  If you logged in with an account like @hotmail.com or @outlook.com you would be able to accomplish this right now.  It is something we are currently working on and its status can be tracked here:  http://success.office.com/en-us/roadmap

    Hope this helps!

    Jason

    Glad that worked, Alex!

The specific item on the roadmap site is under the in development section and entitled "Sway *.sharepoint.com embed support".

    Keep on Swaying!

    Thanks Jason!

While that is a bit frustrating you gave me a workaround that did indeed work!  Thank you!

I didn't see in the Roadmap where this issue is being addressed, but I am hopeful that once it is there will be a message to that effect.

    Thanks again!

    Hello,

When I go to the Insert Menu and either use the OneDrive option (and navigate to the PowerPoint) or use the Upload option it will automatically Import the PowerPoint - I am not given the option to Embed. (see example taken froma tutorial videoat 21:02 minutes):

When I follow these directions from the page you suggested:

    In Sway, do the following:

    1. From the top navigation menu, click Cards.
    2. In the All Cards pane, click Embed, and then type or paste the embed code of the content you want to add to your Sway. NOTE   If you paste a URL (Web address) as your embed code, it must contain the secure prefix https://instead of http:// or the content will not be embedded.

I pasted the following link (from OneDrive):

    https://poudreschools-my.sharepoint.com/personal/abraden\_psdschools\_org/\_layouts/15/guestaccess.aspx?guestaccesstoken=g2p69%2fg%2fZA%2bxN83SpP8Npd%2bwiZUKlu58lyq5VzocAFY%3d&docid=0cf2cc578c29e45a7b98b3515f68e8717

    And got the following error:

When I try to use the embed code from PowerPoint Online:

    <iframe src='https://poudreschools-my.sharepoint.com/personal/abraden_psdschools_org/_layouts/15/WopiFrame.aspx?sourcedoc={cf2cc578-c29e-45a7-b98b-3515f68e8717}&action=embedview&wdAr=1.3333333333333333' width='350px' height='286px' frameborder='0'>This is an embedded <a target='_blank' href='http://office.com'>Microsoft Office</a> presentation, powered by <a target='_blank' href='http://office.com/webapps'>Office Online</a>.</iframe>

    I get this message:

Does this help clarify my situation?

    Thank you for your assistance.

    Alex
