Page up and down in Word 2016 for Mac

I recently upgraded my MS Office, its been a while, and I see there are a lot of changes.

One function I use to like on older versions of Word was to use the up/down scroll bar arrows to quickly go page by page to review the overall pages of a document I was working on or repeat a search through the document. I see that these scroll bar arrows are no longer shown so my questions are.

  1. Is there an option to show the scroll arrows? Can't seem to find anything.
  2. If I can't get this function back, is there something MS can do to get Word to recognize keyboard shortcuts to work properly for this function on the Mac.

In other words, this is what I have for a page up/down function:

FN + up/down arrow is supposed to be page up/down - more like chunk up/down.

It moves up or down a page to some random line on the next page, sometimes ends up at the top of a page.

    1. Construction of scroll bars has been commandeered by Apple. If you're among the multitude dissatisfied with what they've done, don't hesitate to let them know :-) There is nothing in the programs that will restore the former structure or functionality.
    2. Since you mention the fn key I'm assuming that you don't have a full keyboard so fn+Up/DnArrow combination evokes PageUp/PageDown. That basically navigates on the basis of one screen (what fits in the window). It's not realy "random" but there are a number of variables involved such as font size, window size, Zoom, etc.

Include the Command key in the combination [i.e., fn+Command+Up/DnArrow] to go from the top of one page directly to the top of the next. For more navigation keyboard shortcuts as well as those for other purposes, see Word Help on the topic.

Yes, I found this VERY helpful.

The Mac keyboard does not contain a "page up/down" key.

    fn+Up/DnArrow worked very well UNTIL

In the two page view, with a Section Break (Odd page) the odd page appeared on the opposite side. (The blank pages do not appear Print Layout) When this happened I had no choice but to scroll several pages and try the fn+Up/DnArrow

Also when i tried fn+Command+Up/DnArrow it reacted as if I had been doing a word search and responded with this dialog box:

Word has reached the end of the document.  Do you want to continue searching at the beginning?
