OneNote Templates

How can I download Microsoft templates for OneNote? The link in the templates menu leads me to templates.office.com, which only offers templates for Word, PPT, and Excel, which led me to think that maybe there weren't downloadable templates for OneNote? But I keep seeing references to OneNote templates all over the place when I go looking, I just can't find the actual templates.

To be a bit more precise:

The option to download OneNote templates is obviously still there (even in OneNote 2016) and correctly leads to the MS office template collection.

Actually Microsoft seems to have removed all OneNote templates from that directory. Honestly, in my opinion that is not much of a loss though. Those templates were almost all labeled "OneNote 2007" (which does not really matter because the format has remained the same) and were not that useful at all. Just a few fancy graphics and ornaments in the corner and some short tables or field names. Nothing which you could not create by yourself in two minutes.

    Hi,

Thank you for posting your query on Microsoft Office Community.

Unfortunately, the option to download OneNote templates is not available in OneNote 2013.

However, you may refer to the below article to apply a template to OneNote and check if it helps.

    Thank you.

This is not the answer.  We are looking for notebook templates, not just page templates.  We are also looking for the option to download additional templates.  As someone else mentioned, the option is still there, it is just that when you get to the Office site, the whole OneNote section is gone.

There is one template a student of mine found (not by searching on the MS site, but by using Google) at Wedding Planner OneNote package.

Contrary to what someone else said, I thought there were some helpful templates, even if they were created for older versions of OneNote.  There were ones for Project Management, trip planning, and more.  It was very frustrating when all of a sudden they all just randomly disappeared.

Is Microsoft watching???  Can we please have these back?  Why tease us with links in the products if the templates are gone?

Makes me think I should just use Evernote. There are a ton of helpful templates there.

I am sorry that youpersonally did not find templates useful and relegated them to the category of "Just a few fancy graphics and ornaments in the corner and some short tables or field names...". A good number of people are visual learners, and to have color or images next to text makes it easier to sort and remember information. I found the templates to be very useful in organizing material and wish it were still available.

    Thanks!

    Maggie
