Hello everyone,

I would like to find a way to insert or apply a template to a new sheet.

This feature exists in the Windows version (right click on the sheet >> new sheet >> we can find what kind of sheet we want to insert) and I don't understand why it still does not exist in the Mac version.

Any solutions ?

Best regards,

Olivier

Microsoft doesn't support adding new dialog sheets or XLM Macro worksheets in Excel 2016 for Mac. That leaves only one option: insert a regular Excel worksheet. This is the first option on the right-click menu when you right-click on a tab in Excel 2016 for Mac.

Templates are not a sheet type and can not be added via right-click on a sheet tab in any version of Excel.

Templates located in the proper Templates folder appear in the File menu > New From Template dialog.

    1. Normally, when you first open Word 2016 It opens to the Template gallery.
    2. From there you to go to appropriate Template, and open.
    3. If there is no satisfactory template, open Normal document Format as desired.
    4. Then save as a template  using the Save as Menu and choose the type template

(Regular or Macro enabled). 5. Next time a template is needed choose template you created.

If for some reason you have template gallery turned off (you shouldn't). You can alway go to:

File Menu and from drop-down list choose from Template, and Template Gallery Opens.

I read last night where a user after updating Office 2016 went to Template Gallery and the entire thing was wiped clean as if no templates ever came with it. I don't know what was up with that. Whether there was a bad install. Or they had accidentally threw away the templates and office generated a new Blank Template File.
