Cannot print Word document without opening in Google Docs

I can only print selected Word documents by opening the document in Google Docs. I periodically receive these docs from one person and in the past have always been able to open the attachment and print. I don't have this problem with any other docs.

    What happens when you try printing the file? Do you receive an error message?

    Does the document look correct in the preview at File | Print? If it does, convert it to PDF and print the PDF.

    Yes, I have downloaded the file. I can open it there, but it will not print.

    It is a Word 1997-2003 document. I can print other such documents, but I did convert it to Word 2013 and it still won't print.

    Have you tried downloading the file to your local hard drive and opening it from there?

    Which format are these files? Word documents or some other format?

    thanks for your reply, Prabhavathi, but that is exactly what I tried to do and it still won't print. I can open it with Word 2013, but it will not print.

    Hi Susan,

    You may open and print the document using Word 2013 and how it works.

    Check if you are able to create and print document using Word 2013. If you are able to do so then it is possible that it’s a compatibility issue with the documents and Google docs hence you may contact Google Docs support for further assistance.
