Does anyone else experience terrible lag when typing lengthy documents?

Like the title says, my documents will lag like crazy after I've written more than a page or so. The delay gets so bad that I have no way of judging how much I'm actually getting rid of when I backspace, and whole parapgraphs will be deleted. Does anyone else experience this? For reference I'm on a Note 12.2 tablet with a Logitech bluetooth keyboard, however I only have issues with lag on Word Documents (Google Docs work fine). Is there some way to fix this?

You're kidding right?  Your humble opinion, don't use mobile devices for word processing?  Seriously?  This topic left unanswered since July 2015 is the 2nd result on Google when you search "Word Android Lag".  Have you ever seen anyone using a laptop, have you ever seen a laptop in person?

What's so hilarious is that this very site produces an unbearable amount of lag as I sit here trying to type in this reply on a smartphone that has a CPU comparable to any laptop made in 2015.

Ridiculous replies from apparent community leaders aside, I too arrived at this post as a result of Word for Android Lag on my brand new Galaxy Tab A 9.7.  With both the Google keyboard and my nearly full size Logitech keyboard, getting past a single page of text in word becomes infuriating.  Why?  I tried moving a 30 page document I had typed up using Google Docs and Polaris Office to Word because it came with the tablet, pre-installed.  What a mistake that was.

So yeah, you answered his question without even comprehending that he was already typing successfully without lag on another application.  With that, I end this post, because on a Galaxy S6, trying to type in this textbox  has been a nightmare.

PS.  WiFi is off and onedrive is disabled, working directly from internal storage.

Thank you for the information. Did you check if your device software is up to date? If so, does it also happen with other device? If Yes, we can confirm that it has anything to do with the Word app for Android. If you reinstalled the app already and the issue still persists, we  would appreciate if you will raise this to our Outlook team as a feedback by using our Outlook Suggestion box so that we could make an adjustment and improvement when using Word app for Android.

Let us know if you need further assistance.

    Hi Lisa,

There are a number of possible reasons why you're experiencing a lag issue when editing Word documents. To isolate this issue, kindly provide the following information:

    • When does the issue start?
    • Does it happens to all large Word documents when trying to edit them?
    • In what devices do you get this concern?

Has anyone found an answer for this yet? I've got documents both in Google and in Word that I use for different reasons and the lag for editing larger Word docs is killing me.

A possible reason for the issue is that the documents are probably being opened from your OneDrive.

IMHO, mobile devices are useless for more than reading and minor editing of documents.
