Sharing a File from Business account to a Personal Account

Hi,

I am wondering if I am able to share a Word or Excel file for co-editing across my business account to someone else's personal account. Our business works with independent contractors that may only have a Microsoft 365 Personal account or Family account. I am wondering if there is any limitations.

Thanks,

    Hi @AlbertLlaguno-0244

You most definitely can share a file from a business account with OneDrive or SharePoint to a personal account.

It is important to know how your business (Microsoft 365) tenant is setup, so if you aren't the Administrator, I would reach out to them and ask how the permissions are set up. They must be set up to allow sharing to external users (see documentation below).

    Manage sharing settings

    Hi @AlbertLlaguno-0244,
In my opinion, your problem is related to the organization polices, you should contact the Administrator to check the settings about share with external or personal accounts.
