alignment problem with Mac Excel

I just converted from a PC to a MacBook Air and I am continuing to use Microsoft Excel for Mac.  I cannot get the text within merged and wrapped cells to fully justify: flush on the left of the cell, but not on the right?  The text on the right side has a noticeable gap and its uneven.  Thanks for your help.

What you don't mention is whether you've selected Justify in Format> Cells> Alignment - Horizontal Alignment.

Even with that applied, Mac Excel doesn't do Full/Forced Justification, nor does it support automatic hyphenation. Those typography features generally are found only in word processing/desktop publishing programs. It's unlikely that you'll get a razor sharp right edge to the text... there simply are too many variables beyond the scope of spreadsheet programs.

First, make sure that you are using compatible fonts, that is, a font that is available on both the PC and the Mac. Also make sure you run FontBook to check all your fonts and remove duplicates. After doing this, restart your Mac.

Second, Never, Ever Ever use merged cells. They will cause all kinds (this is only one small issue) of problems as your workbook changes over time. The is always another way to get your headings to align and appear properly without using merged cells.
