Created slides w/o exiting Slide Master View - Cannot open on another computer

First time I used PPT. I created a slide master and saved it as a template. Then proceeded to create an entire presentation from that master without exiting Slide Master view and opening a new presentation. I can save the file and re-open on the same computer (desktop) - but on another computer (laptop), only the first slide shows up.

I need to use this presentation on a laptop on 8-15. How can I save the file or re-work it so I can open it on the laptop? As an alternative, can I save the slides in some other way, and use them in a new presentation, which can be saved correctly?

I tried saving it as an outline (rtf), but again, only the first slide shows up.

My problem may be due to a different issue, but I'm pretty clueless. Thanks for your help!

PS: I found instructions about creating a slide master, which concluded with "close the slide master view," which I didn't know to do at the time. I'm afraid to try it now without some guidance, because I think I'd lose my 60 slides.

    Hi,

You will need to insert slides in the presentation and then cut/paste the shapes you've created on the master slides on to the slides for this to work.

You will need to do this one slide as a time. The process would be as follows:

    1. Make sure you are in normal view
    2. Insert a slide.
    3. Switch to Slide Master view.
    4. Location the slide (the layout), select the shapes you created, cut.
    5. Switch back to Normal view.
    6. Paste the shapes into the previously inserted slide.
    7. Repeat for the next.

    1. Yes, when you exit the master view, you are in normal view (or also the view in which you can view the actual slide).
    2. Each layout is suited to the content you wish to display but for current purposes any layout will do.
    3. View | Slide Master will take you back to the master view.
    4. Ctrl+A will select the shapes on the slide. The Ctrl+C (copy) or Ctrl+X (Cut). Close Master View, select the desired slide and hit Ctrl+V (Paste)

Recommend that you try it on one slide and get it working.

Thank you Shyam, for your detailed reply.

I have a few additional questions to make sure I have it right:

    1. By "normal view," do you mean that I need to "Close the Master View" - (the Red Button on the right)?
    2. Using the "new slide" button under the Home Tab, I see a list of possible layouts. Is any layout OK, because I'm going to copy over it anyway?
    3. View > Slide Master?
    4. with the appropriate slide selected in Slide Master, I don't see how to select the "shapes." I tried "ctrl+copy" on the slide, but that didn't seem to work. Do the "shapes" include text boxes? I see a "Insert Layout" button. The "Master layout" button is grayed out.

I presume I will also have to copy and paste the text in a similar fashion for each slide, is that correct?

I appreciate your help. Now I can see that this is manageable!
