Hi

I am using Access 2010, when I click on my tables to view and change, the DATASHEET TAB does not appear.

The tutorials show; open in the 'many'view. That is what I need to do, but can't.

Please assist

Regards

Heinrich

    Hi Scott

When I click on the table, it does open in Datasheet view. On the ribbon above I only have, Table Tool under tables & tools. The tab for Datasheet is missing.

I'm not sure what you mean - do you mean you cannot open the Tables in Datasheet view (i.e. where you can see the data)?

Are you working with a standard Desktop database, or a Web App?

As a general rule you shouldn't be working directly in tables. All interaction between users and table should be done through forms.

As DBGuy said, you are looking at a 2007 tutorial. The interface is different. I would also not recommend creating relationships that way. Simply open the relationship window show the tables you want to relate, then drag and drop the one side onto the many side.

Hi. Might it have something to do with the tutorial using Access 2007 while you're using Access 2010? In any case, unless you're creating a web app to be published in SharePoint, creating a lookup field using the Lookup Wizard is not really recommended. It's not how you would actually establish table relationships in a desktop application. Just my 2 cents...
