Enhance the Text Highlight Color gallery

In OneNote the Text Highlight Color gallery offers a large array of colors, especially more subdued ones, to the user. Word should offer the same gallery.

    Thank you, Suzanne. Are these the steps: Select the desired text; then from the Home tab, Paragraph group, click the Shading button and apply the desired shade?

    Given that this request has been made for every version since I've been using Word (Word 2.0), it is very unlikely to be granted. What you can use instead that is actually more versatile is text shading, which permits the full range of RGB colors. You can define a character style that includes the desired color and apply it to selected text.

    Yes, provided the shading is applied to just the selected text and not the entire paragraph. If you open the Borders and Shading dialog and look at the Shading tab, you'll see that "Apply to" can be set to Text or Paragraph (and, when you are in a table, Cell). Instructions for creating a character style (if you need them) are in http://wordfaqs.mvps.org/StyleRef.htm
