How do I make a background picture fade?

In previous versions of PowerPoint, I could insert a picture and then create a faded effect, so the picture was still visible, but the text stood out more. I can't find that option in the newer versions.

    It is much the same.

    Right click a blank area of the slide > Format Background

    Choose Picture

    Set the transparency slider.

    Thank you! I was in a hurry, and my company had just upgraded us to a newer version of Office -- some of the changes are not easy to navigate quickly. I appreciate your help.
