PFD's in Visio Standard 2016

I want to create an engineering process flow diagram since I am in uni for chemical engineering. I downloaded and installed Visio Standard 2016 and opened up the process flow diagram and there are no equipment shapes, such as valves and fittings, to drag and drop. I searched other shapes in the search bar and still no equipment shapes.

Is there a way I can access these shapes within the program? Or is there an add-on download I can do to get the equipment shapes?

Hi,

The engineering Process Flow diagram shapes are available only in Professional version. For Visio Standard 2016, there is no equipment shapes.

For more information about Visio Professional 2016 version:

https://products.office.com/en-us/visio/visio-professional-business-and-diagram-software?legRedir=true&CorrelationId=0f093a22-6159-4cac-8fab-ed415b77314e

It includes "Engineering diagrams, such as electrical, circuits, and systems. Refreshed templates include Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) compliance".

For Visio Standard 2016, there is no templates and shapes that meet industry standards, including BPMN 2.0, UML 2.4, IEEE, and Windows Workflow 4.0. For more information about Visio products comparing, please read:

Hope it helps.

Process flow has a specific meaning and includes tasks. It sound like you are talking about a physical process flow using lab equipment - flasks, piping, valves and vessels. Unfortunately, there was a lab equipment by a 3rd party that is no longer available.

What sort of lab equipment are you looking for and what type of drawing are you trying to represent?
