This always happen to me. I'm not sure why, but the most simple workaround is usually to open paint, paste the picture there, hit Ctrl + A (to select all) then re-copy it. From there it should paste into PowerPoint.
Sometimes, right after pasting, a small popup box would show (you would have to find it, it would be somewhere in the vicinity of where you pasted the picture). Click it then click the option which reads something like 'Preserve original formatting', or 'Do not change formatting'. The picture should then reappear.
Sometimes, the picture might go outside the boundaries of the screen. you might have to zoom out a little bit. Other times, it might be hidden under another layer of text box or pictures.
Also, I found that clicking in the empty spot outside of the slide, then pasting, helps overcome some issues. This makes sure that nothing is selected and no text box is being edited while pasting.
So these are the options I usually use:
- Paste it in paint, then recopy it into PowerPoint
- Preserve formatting using option from popup box for pasting
- Check that the picture did not go outside the boundaries of the slide
- Check that it is not hidden behind a layer of text boxes or pictures
- Click outside the slide before pasting
Please see if whether these options work. Hope this helps!
Aaron.
