I simply cannot get Word to print 2 pages on 1 sheet I have tried various things to no avail.
First, I simply selected 2 pages per sheet. All that happens is that it prints one page, half-size, on the left hand side of the sheet, but nothing on the right side, where the second should be.
Note I wish to print a one-page document twice on single page of paper.

If your document is a full-sized page and you select "2 pages per sheet" on the Print tab of the Backstage and enter 1,1 in the Pages box as Doug shows, you should get two copies on one sheet. If you don't, then you are doing something different from this in some way.
I tried that, but it did not work. I believe (I tried so many options) when I tried that it printed two pages, but only half the page. Thus, the result was if one asked it to print four pages on a page, but only printed the top two. The same happened when I tried to print four pages a page, they were all on half the page.
I must say for a seemingly simple operation, I do not understand why one needs to jump through hoops. If it can print one page normally, there should be a one button to print two of the pages on one sheet of paper. What is needed is a dialogue box like at the copier at work where one choose the different outputs. The option to either print two different pages on one page or one page twice on a page was clearly there.
I will repeat to myself "the computer is a time saving device" until the sequence of hoops I have to jump through to do this simple operation is revealed by someone. I hope someone from Microsoft Office is hearing this loud and clear.
