We will hold a Teams meeting and we don't want participants recording the meeting. How to setup with this meeting. In the Meeting Options, I only can get the option with 'Record automatically' enable or disable.

Many thanks & Best Regards,

Kitty

    Hi @Mu, Kitty

You can do this through Meeting Policies:

    1) Go to https://admin.teams.microsoft.com/policies/meetings

    2) Under Manage policies > Choose Global (Org-wide default) or create a new policy targeted to certain users.

    3) Turn off Cloud recording

    Hi @Dillon Silzer

Unfortunate, I don't have admin right to access the Teams Admin Center.

My question are, whether the 'Cloud recording' option changes all Teams meetings for all Teams users or it can be targeted at one or more meetings for special Teams meeting?

    Many thanks.

    Kitty

If you want to prevent participants from starting the meeting recording, adjust their roles within the meeting: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/roles-in-a-teams-meeting-c16fa7d0-1666-4dde-8686-0a0bfe16e019
Only Organizer and Presenters can start/stop recording and transcription, so as long as you are the only organizer/presenter, you should be all set.

This is a privacy issue and may become a legal issue. AI is being used to create fake conversations and it needs material to train with. Meeting recordings will be a prime source. To stop this, Teams needs an option for attendees to disable the recording of their voices.

This can't be left to admins and hosts to decide.

Placing this here as Microsoft doesn't date their support articles and can't tell when data is out of date.

Within an organization, admins can only turn recording on and off, not who can record. Meeting organizers cannot restrict who can record unless they are licensed with a Teams Premium license, which is an add-on to your organizational plan.
