Repeat text in merged cell on next page

I have a table in my Word document. The first column has multiple rows merged together. How can I get the text to repeat onto the next page if the section is split over two pages. Hope that makes sense. Thanks in advance

You really can't. Word provides for repeating header rows but not, as it were, header columns. You'll have to manually split the cell and add the repeated text to the cell on the next page (best done when editing is complete).
