How to input normal text under each heading/subheading in Multilevel in Word?

Question described in the title. Enter and backspace or shift+enter will include the content I type in the navigation list, which is not intended since a catalog shall be created with the navigation heading list. Do you have any solution?

Thanks in advance :)

You need to use one of the Heading # styles for the headings and a different style (Body Text or Normal) for the "normal text".

See the article "How to create numbered headings or outline numbering in your Microsoft Word document" on the following page of the Late Shauna Kelly's website:

and other articles on that site.

Using the List Continue series of styles, as Suzanne suggested, would be even better.

    Hi Peter,

For us to check on this, can you tell us the version of the Microsoft Word that you're using? Is it 2007, 2010, 2013, 2016, etc.? Does this help?

    Keep us posted.

Thanks for the advice, and that's what I'm working on now, but with this method I have to adjust the indents of these "normal" texts respectively depending on their hierarchy. Would love to know if there's a more efficient means.

And one more question: when I use the multilevel, I use Tab to define different indents. But somehow one Tab means two indents in my files and I have to readjust it. Do you have any idea how to fix it?

    Thanks a lot~
